The Resting Butterfly

This Butterfly was resting on the wall just outside one of the rooms in Mexico, which gave me the opportunity to get in close for this shot.

Wasp!

I was going for a drive a few weeks ago and this wasp landed on my windshield just as I was pulling out of the back ally. I just had to stop to take a few shots of this wasp from this unusual angle.

Ladies Leaf the Party

As Fall thickens, and the leaves start to cover the ground, it becomes my job to rake them up. Today's Piles of leaves were covered in hundreds of ladybugs, which made for a nice photo opportunity.

White Moth

I am really impressed with the macro setting on my camera for this shot. I really like that you can see it's eye, and even individual hairs!

Busy Bee

Another shot from my trip to Bragg Creek yesterday. I spent about 15 minutes chasing bees around to try get some close up shots. This is one of the better ones I got. I like it even though the bee is facing away.

Thistle Butterfly

I went for another walk around the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary today. However, there were more butterflies than there were birds. Here is one of them.

Dragons on the Fly

There were hundreds of these little guys flying around BC last weekend. But not many of them stayed still long enough for me to get a decent shot. Here is one that did though.

Prepared for Takeoff

I took this shot at the Butterfly House in the Calgary Zoo. It sucks that the humidity gave most of my shots this foggy look to them. I tried my best to crisp the image up in Photoshop.

Praying Mantis

This Praying Mantis is the only one that I have ever seen. It was during my time in Australia. When I saw it I ran to get my camera and thankfully it decided to wait for me to get back.

Back to Fish Creek Park for this one. I found this giant ant hill covered in these red headed ants. So I tried to capture the crazy mass, and here it is.
