While driving back from the cinema today we passed this amazing view of the sun behind some clouds with the cityscape below...Unfortunately, today was the first day in 3 weeks that I didn't have my camera with me =( I did however take a few shots of the sun setting from the end of my street. Here is one of them.

Capturing The Elements
I took this photo on way back from a camping trip a few years back. We drove past this area with loads of these wind turbines scattered along these hills. It was just starting to rain as I took this shot.

Sunburst Jellyfish
This is another cheat shot in that it was taken at Vancouver Aquarium. However, I love the bright orange colour of the jellyfish so I thought I would post it anyway.

Stranded in Paradise
I really miss this van. While diving along a beach on Kangaroo Island, I turned to sharply and managed to get our van stuck in the sand. As frustrating as it was having to dig our way out, at least I got this nice shot out of it.

London Arch
The London Arch is a natural occurring rock formation along the Great Ocean Road. I`m not sure why it is called The London Arch, but it makes for a nice photo.

Garden Party
I really like this table. It was at a winery in the Okanagan Valley, and I couldn't resist taking this simple shot.

Drinking Dingo
I feel like this shot is a bit of a cheat in that it was taken at a wildlife park/zoo...but I really like that I managed to capture the dingo with his tongue out.

Wrecked Pier
I was walking along some clifftops when I came across some ruins. There were some dangerously eroded stairs that lead down to this old damaged pier... I decided that to try navigate my way down to it would have a bad idea, but I got this shot from the top looking down.

City Park - Melbourne Botanic Gardens
I really like the way the buildings rise up from the trees in this shot. It was taken from the Botanic Gardens in Melbourne, Australia.

Ocean Rainbow
This rainbow appeared over the ocean one day while we were driving from Melbourne to Canberra (The scenic route). What this photo doesn't show is that there was actually a school of dolphins just underneath the rainbow. Unfortunately, they were too far out for me to get any good photos of.

Baby Monitor Lizard
I nearly ran over this little guy while driving through Australia. After slamming on my brakes, I couldn't resist jumping out to take a few photos.

Jamaican Resort
I haven't posted any sunsets for a while so I thought it was about time we had another one... This one is from the beach at the resort that I stayed at in Jamaica.

Grapes, Grapes, Grapes
While going through the Okanagan last summer, they were harvesting the grapes at one of the wineries. They had these huge barrels filled with delicious grapes. Mmmmmmm...Just think of all that wine.

Praying Mantis
This Praying Mantis is the only one that I have ever seen. It was during my time in Australia. When I saw it I ran to get my camera and thankfully it decided to wait for me to get back.

Beach Lights
This small group of building were on an island just off the beach at the resort I stayed at in Jamaica. And I am please to tell you that the reflections in the water are real in this one =)

Woodland Wallaby
Back on Kangaroo Island (Australia), this cute little fella spent a few minutes watching me creep slowly closer and taking few photos before he lost interest and hopped away.

Shadows On Grass
This was taken just a little while before sunset last week. There was a large clearing surrounded by trees, and the trees made these really long shadows. I thought it looked kind of neat.

Bridging The Gap
This bridge crosses over the bow river. I was cycling over it the other day and couldn't resist stopping to take a photo.

Macro Experiment
So...at the weekend, I decided that if I want to be a photographer, I should probably learn how to use my camera properly. So I spent a few hours reading through the manual (yes I know that I should have done that a long time ago). This photo was taken using one of the macro settings. I am not sure what type of tree this is, so if there are any plantologists out there (Dad) I would really appreciate it if you could enlighten me as to its name.

Penthouse Apartments
I took this photo today while cycling along the bow river. I really like the look of this apartment block. It's a very clean building, and I like the triangular balconies.

Calgary Reflections
I read an article in one of my photography magazines about adding reflections to your photos so I thought I would spend a little time in Photoshop and give it a try...this is the result.

Hidden Waterfall
This waterfall was a short walk from one of the camp sites I stayed at during my first trip to BC. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of it.

Feeding Frenzy
This busy scene I shot at a small fishing port on Kangaroo Island (Australia). A guy emptied a bucket of fish scraps into the sea, and it wasn't long before this was the view.

Duck Trail
Here is another photo from my visit to Fish Creek Park last month. I saw this trail of duck prints running along the ice to the river. Navigating my way down onto the ice was a little scary, but well worth it.

The Sun Goes Down Under
Back to Australia today for another sunset. I'm really pleased with how the colours and the silhouettes of the trees turned out in this shot.

Winter Icicles
This photo is of a load of icicles that forms outside my front door where the water melts off the roof and drips down onto this bush. I think it looks really cool.

First Flowers of Spring
Yesterday, I drove up to Banff with a couple of friends visiting from England. We saw loads of wonderful views of the mountains, but we only saw two flowers the whole day...and here they are.
