Back to Fish Creek Park for this one. I found this giant ant hill covered in these red headed ants. So I tried to capture the crazy mass, and here it is.

Speeding Fish

Today's photo is from my time spent snorkeling and diving The Great Barrier Reef. I managed to catch this shot of a fish speeding away. I think it turned out quite well.

Pears

This photo is from my time fruit picking in Australia. I spent all day filling up these huge barrels with pears. It took ages and this is what I felt like I was looking at all day long!

Hungry Hawk

I was cycling home from work one day a few years ago, and I saw this hawk flying overhead. I stopped to try get a photo. While I was fumbling for my camera, the hawk suddenly fell from the sky and landed on a gopher. After a very brief struggle, the hawk stood and began to eat. It seemed quite content to continue as I crawled closer to within 4 feet of him, which allowed me to get this awesome close up.

The Goose of Inglewood

Yesterday, I went to Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. It's silly that it took me that long to go there as it only a 5 minute walk from where I'm living. Here is a photo of a proud looking Canadian Goose.

Okanagan Views

I love the Okanagan. I love the views, the wine, and the sunshine. This photo is from one of my trips there. Unfortunately I don't remember which winery this was taken at. Still, its a nice shot.

Whitetail Deer

Today I went to Fish Creek Park (Alberta). It was such a beautiful day, I spent over 2 hours there taking photos. This is one of the shots I got.

Baby Chipmunk

This curious little chipmunk was running all over the rocks at Lake Minnewanka (Alberta). I could not believe how tiny it was.

Zerene Fritillary (Speyeria Zerene)

This photo was very much down to luck. I saw this butterfly (Zerene Fritillary) land and slowly open its wings. I really wanted to get a close up so that I could capture as much detail as possible. I slowly edged closer and closer. Literally the second I took this photo, the butterfly took off. Had I waited another second, I would have missed it.

Forest Fire

This is another one from my first road trip through B.C. We saw several forest fires on our trip, this one we were close enough to get a few good photos.

These beautiful flowers (Red Hibiscus) were all along this path at the resort I stayed at in Jamaica.

Earth's Fingerprint

This one is from The Badlands, Drumheller (Alberta). I`m fascinated by the way the earth peals back almost like paper, and the random patterns made by the cracks.

Blue Hills

Back to Australia again for this one...This was taken somewhere between Melbourne and Canberra. I love the blue haze over the mountains.

Jamaican Sunset

This sunset photo was taken from the beach at a resort in Jamaica that I stayed at in 2009.

Pelican Crossing

This is another one from Kangaroo Island. I saw this old boat on the beach, and as I went to take the photo this group of pelicans strolled into view.

Koala

During my time in Australia, I saw several Koalas. However, the majority of them were in captivity. This is a photo of one of the few wild Koalas I saw. I nearly missed it, but just as we were walking past, I saw it move out of the corner of my eye. What Luck.

Learning To Swim

Back to Australia for this one. This was on Kangaroo Island, just south of Adelaide. We went down onto this beach and were surrounded by all these sea lions. This is one of my favorite photos from this beach.

This one was taken near downtown Calgary. I was cycling to work one day in the Autumn of 09, and saw this awesome sight. Luckily, I had my camera in my backpack. Here is the result...

Reflecting Green

This is a picture I took during my first road-trip through The Rockies in 2008. It was a short walk from a campsite we stayed at. I love the reflections of the trees in the water.

Watching The Sun Set

This was taken on another beach along The Great Ocean Road (Australia). The sun was setting so fast I could actually see the sun moving down behind the horizon.

Starfish

This is another photo from my time in Australia. I still can't get over the bright purple color of the starfish.
